Iyen Agbonifo-Obasek is an award-winning Costume Designer with an impressive portfolio spanning several decades. She has lent her talents to various stage plays, television productions, advertisements, and films both within and beyond the borders of Nigeria.

 

With a passion for nurturing emerging artists, Iyen has established herself as a prominent figure in the entertainment industry, earning a reputation for her meticulous attention to detail in all of her endeavors. Among her notable works are Igodo, A dance for 'Ella [an adaptation of the Cinderella story], Tango With Me, Adesuwa, Married but Living Single, Kamsi, Delicate Affair (a Nigeria/Ghana collaboration), Invasion 1897 (a story about the famed Benin Massacre of 1897), and Obisike [a Nigeria/German collaboration that was staged in Dusseldorf, Germany in 2016].

 

In addition to her impressive achievements as a Costume Designer, Iyen Agbonifo-Obaseki is also the founding and immediate past President of the Creative Designers Guild of Nigeria [CDGN], the leading association for Costumiers, Make-up artists, Property Managers, and Set Designers in the Nigerian motion picture industry.
