Mr. Israel Meriomame Wekpe, a highly accomplished and talented individual with a diverse range of skills and experience in the creative industry. He is an actor, actor trainer, director, academic, and designer, with over 25 years of experience as a practitioner in the field.

 

With a strong focus on a spontaneous yet intuitive approach to training, Mr. Wekpe firmly believes in the potential of theatre to create employment opportunities. He also emphasizes the importance of rehearsals as spaces for instruction, training, and the development of life skills. As a trainer of trainers, he places great importance on attention to detail and brings to this project his dedicated years of experience in working with and training young people.

 

Mr. Wekpe holds a BA (Hons) and MA, and is currently pursuing a PhD at the prestigious University of Leeds in the UK. He has an impressive portfolio, having served as production designer for Esosa Kabat Egbon's works "Queen of Queens" and "Ebomisi." In addition, he has directed the short film "Among the stars" and has been commissioned for the limited series "Silent Bells."
